About

A Place Where You Belong

Established in 1973, La Casa/Latino Cultural Center serves as an important link and advocate between the university and the Latine community, working closely with other campus units, the Bloomington community, and state and national groups. Building on a strong campus community, La Casa provides programming, support, and opportunities to foster a sense of belonging and pride for Latine students, while assisting in their academic, leadership, professional, and social development.

Celebrating and Exploring Diversity

As an advocacy office and a program of the Office of the Vice President for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (OVPDEI), La Casa, the Latino Cultural Center, provides students with a central gathering space to celebrate and explore diversity, cultural heritage, history, and traditions. Students have access to social, academic, counseling, and cultural services to assist in their college journey.

The Latine Experience: (1910-Present)

The Latine presence at Indiana University is nothing new. We are in the process of documenting this history. To make sure we are as inclusive as possible we need your help. Do you have pictures or stories that you can share as part of this archive? Many of us within the Latine community know of our pride and history at Indiana University. It is our hope that through this project, we will also be able to share this with the rest of the world. Help us spread the word.
